Los Angeles - The votes are in and Michael Johns has been voted off American Idol.
Johns, 29, sang “Dream On” by Aerosmith this week. After his performance, Simon said, “i’m going to miss you, you’re a very good singer, and very, very nice guy.”
“I’m definitely surprised,” said Johns.
Joining Johns in the bottom three this week were Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson — both of whom have faced eliminated in past weeks.
Johns is a native of Perth, Australia but currently resides in Los Angeles.
The seven contestants remaining include; Brooke White, David Cook, Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercardo, Jason Castro, Carly Smithson and David Archuleta.
