Links To Tainted Ground Beef Continue

Detroit-There are continuing cases of E. Coli that are being made public after the state has been battling the illness for over 10 days.

Kroger Grocery stores have recalled all of their ground beef, and the search for the supplier and source is continuing for the tainted ground beef that have made many people ill in Michigan, Ohio, and elsewhere.

The Michigan Department of Community Health is issuing an overall warning.

The Health Department has issued an alert for anyone that may be at risk, for users or consumers of ground beef in Michigan to be cautious and avoid any further ground beef use.

There have been 15 cases of E.Coli in Michigan so far and of those 10 people have had to be hospitalized.

“Our top priority is the public health,” said Dr. Gregory Holzman, Chief Medical Executive for Michigan’s Department of public health.

Residents and others that are persisting in using ground beef are urged to cook them until they are well done, and thoroughly cooked.

Other retailers besides Kroger’s Grocery have been contacted and the search for the source of the tainted ground beef continues.

It is critical to follow safe food practices to reduce the risk of infection.
