
Microsoft Founder Says He Believes Merger With Yahoo Unlikely
New York- In a morning interview with NBC anchorman Tom Brokaw, the founder and creator of Microsoft spoke out, saying that a deal with Yahoo or a merger with Yahoo, Inc. is an unlikely event.
Bill Gates was speaking to journalist Tom Brokaw when he was asked about the possibility that the earlier deal between Microsoft and Yahoo would take place in the future or at some time down the road.
Gates responded that he believes that such a future deal would not be totally impossible but that he personally believes that as time passes that such a deal becomes more and more unlikely.
Bill Gates, who worked with a number of fellow computer innovators to create Microsoft in the early 1970’s, is retiring on Friday, leaving the company that he helped to create.
Microsoft has earlier sought a tie in or merger with Yahoo, and they left the table in May after their final offer of $33 dollars a share, or nearly $47 billion dollars was rejected by Yahoo.
The software giant is looking for various methods to take full advantage of its size and company stock to compete with Google in the realm of Internet Audience.
Yahoo and Google are currently pursuing a possible joint operation to work together on a number of business endeavors.
