<br /> Redmond, WA- Microsoft, frustrated at its position as number 2 in the Game Console battle is announcing the price cut on its low end Xbox gaming system.

But Price Drop May Be Temporary And A Marketing Ploy

Redmond, WA- Microsoft, frustrated at its position as number 2 in the Game Console battle is announcing the price cut on its low end Xbox gaming system.

Up to now the price of the 20 GB version of the mid level Xbox 360 will be available for about $300 dollars, a price cut of about $50 dollars.

This is a price cut, this is true, but it is also a kind of marketing ploy as the new Xbox 360 60 GB game console is nearing release, and this is a way for Microsoft to be able to clear out inventories of the older game system.

The competition between Microsoft and Nintendo is fierce, and most people in the Industry agree that the Nintendo Wii game system is leading the pack with its wide variety of games and more user-friendly interfaces.

Microsoft is not out of the game; they are constantly looking for new ways both to market and also to achieve users and game aficionado loyalty, offering new games and increasing the potential of its game systems.

Only time will tell, but the newest Xbox 360 release is scheduled for August 1st, but the release date may be adjusted so stay tuned.
